HTML5 mobile games tech boost gaming market

I've been playing around with HTML5 for around 10 years now and have been blown away by how much it has changed in the time.

Have you ever find it difficult or frustrated when you explored a great game to play but had to download an app every time from a play store ?

That used to be the common miserable experience for players until the arrival of HTML5 changed everything

The modern web has quickly become a viable platform not only for creating stunning, high quality games, but also for distributing those games.

Now, you can play games in your cell phone browser. It has taken a while to get this far, but the wait has been a worthwhile one.

It was over 25 years ago that HTML arrived on the scene. It could provide more content and links when you went online. Times have changed these days , and HTML5 offers so much more than anyone could have dreamed about all those years ago.

That means you can often play free games on your cell, even if the device itself is so expensive

It has evolved to the stage where each individual web page can be programmed just like a computer. All a massive change from the original HTML codes that were simply text.

Well coming to  speed, it was a most frustrating experience for users, and something had to change. It wasn’t just businesses who were unhappy with the speed. Gamers don’t tend to like it when everything runs slowly or comes to a halt, often at the most important part of the game.

The modern web has quickly become a viable platform not only for creating stunning, high quality games, but also for distributing those games.

The range of games that can be created is on par with desktop and native OS counterparts. With modern Web technologies and a recent browser, it's entirely possible to make stunning, top-notch games for the Web. And we're not talking about simple card games or multi-player social games that have in the olden days been done using Flash. We're talking about kick-ass 3D action shooters, RPGs, and more. Thanks to massive performance improvements in JavaScript just-in-time compiler technology and new APIs, you can build games that run in the browser (or on HTML5-powered devices like those based on Firefox OS) without making compromises.

 The HTML5 game platform

You can truly think of the Web as a better target platform for your game. As we like to say, "the Web is the platform." Let's take a look at the core of the Web platform:

As a game developer, whether you're an individual or a large game studio, you want to know why it makes sense to target the Web with your next game project.

For the tech folks, let's dig into the APIs the Web brings to the table that cater to game developers. Here's a thorough list to give you a taste of what the Web can do for you:Let's look at how the HTML5 can help you.

 Full Screen API

This simple API lets your game take over the entire screen, thereby immersing the player in action.

Gamepad API

If you want your users to be able to use gamepads or other game controllers to work your game, you'll need this API.

IndexedDB

A powerful data storage API for maintaining user data on their own computer or device. A great way to save game state and other information locally so it doesn't have to be downloaded every time it's needed. Also useful to help make your game playable even when the user isn't connected to the Web (such as when they're stuck on an airplane for hours on end).

JavaScript

JavaScript, the programming language used on the Web, is blazing fast in modern browsers and getting faster all the time. Use its power to write the code for your game, or look at using technologies like Emscripten or Asm.js to easily port your existing games.

Pointer Lock API

The Pointer Lock API lets you lock the mouse or other pointing device within your game's interface so that instead of absolute cursor positioning you receive coordinate deltas that give you more precise measurements of what the user is doing, and prevent the user from accidentally sending their input somewhere else, thereby missing important action.

SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics)

Lets you build vector graphics that scale smoothly regardless of the size or resolution of the user's display.

Typed Arrays

JavaScript typed arrays give you access to raw binary data from within JavaScript; this lets you manipulate GL textures, game data, or anything else, even if it's not in a native JavaScript format.

Web Audio API

This API for controlling the playback, synthesis, and manipulation of audio from JavaScript code lets you create awesome sound effects as well as play and manipulate music in real time.

WebGL

Lets you create high-performance, hardware-accelerated 3D (and 2D) graphics from Webcontent. This is a Web-supported implementation of OpenGL ES 2.0.

WebRTC

The WebRTC (Real-Time Communications) API gives you the power to control audio and video data, including teleconferencing and transmitting other application data back and forth between two users. Want your players to be able to talk to each other while blowing up monsters? This is the API for you.

WebSockets

The WebSocket API lets you connect your app or site to a server to transmit data back and forth in real-time. Perfect for multiplayer gaming action, chat services, and so forth.

Web Workers

Workers give you the ability to spawn background threads running their own JavaScript code, to take advantage of modern, multi-core processors.

XMLHttpRequest and File API

The combination of XMLHttpRequest and the File API lets you send and receive any kind of data you want (don't let the "XML" throw you!) from a Web server. This is a great way to do anything from downloading new game levels and artwork to transmitting non-real-time game status information back and forth.

Racing with HexGL

You can’t beat a good racing game, and HexGL is set in the future.

Speed is of the essence in this HTML5 game. All that speed and no time wasting downloading the game. You have a spaceship to control in a game that pays tribute to the Wipe out and F-Zero series.

There are games where security act as a vital speed, such as when you play at online casinos. HTML5 has helped sites such as STS Bet provide some cool live dealer games that you can spend many a happy hour playing on. Whether it is roulette, blackjack, or baccarat, there are lots to enjoy.

Most online casinos now also have video slots and table games that are exclusively built in HTML5. By working with JavaScript, HTML5 can build 2D video games that are compatible with all operating systems. That makes it so much easier to play them on your mobile devices, including iOSAndroid, and Windows. Most of the times for us it is important the space we have on our device right? How many times do we find difficult to decide which apps to uninstall so a new one can be downloaded?

With HTML5, your mobile devices are not going to get clogged up with all those game downloads. You are also able to access them when you want them, wherever you are. No more waiting for ‘download a plug-in.’

The new games that we play now at online gaming sites look  awesome now better than ever. God knows what the future has in store for us. The games we love to play have a fantastic look to them. Amazing graphics that just seem to get better and better as time goes by. Compared to the standard that was around in the past, it’s allow new world now. Everything is so clear to see; there are fantastic bonus games and soundtracks that add a great deal to the experience. Genieee is one such company which gives amazing web gaming experience to its customers which is famous game development company in India.

 God Will be Watching

Over $61 billion was spent on mobile games in 2019, so there is no shortage of excellent HTML5 games that you can try. If you love playing puzzle game to frustrate and entertain you at the same time, there’s Gods Will Be Watching. It’s not just an adventure game, but one that features a dog, a robot, and a psychiatrist, and not many games can say that. Can you keep them warm, not at all hungry, and prevent insanity?

There is a game called Polycraft isn’t just a great game to play, and it’s also in 3D. That gives it a great look as you try to collect resources, successfully carry out tasks and be a builder too. It all runs so well, thanks to HTML 5.

There’s plenty of fun to be had playing Olympia Rising. This game is one for those who love playing games that have a retro look to them. In this game it will take you to the Ancient Greece, and you play the role of a woman who has received a massive boost by being given another chance at life. That’s the good news; now there’s the difficult task of getting out of the world of the dead.
